a friend of ours called this afternoon, with our work schedules, we haven't spoken in awhile. She called to ask if we knew anyone that wanted a kitten.
she lives on a farm and people are always dropping off cats. A pregnant female was dropped off there a couple of months ago, the kittens are now ready to go. The mom has already been adopted and will be going to a forever home as soon as homes for the kittens are found.
ennywhoo... we are going over there sunday and bringing home a kitten. there is a calico that sounds adorable, my partner has a soft spot for calicos
I know it's hard naming a pet without seeing it, but I'm looking for suggestions. My partner is adverse to giving animals "people" names.

It's a play on calico. It's also the name for the goddess of destruction. Oops. Maybe not.

| 2. My suggestion would be to name it after its personality |

Wait and see what comes to you after it makes its home with you. Something will strike you as just right.
My personal preference is always for creative names or names that are meaningful to you, not the obvious or common names (like "Snowball" for white cats or "Blackie" for black ones).

Calico cats do look as if they're wearing a fur quilt.

| 9. we picked her up last night - her name is PIP |
|
she's a diluted tortise shell. settled right in, purring up a storm and rubbing on our dogs and other cats.
I have to download a pic from the camera later today and will post it.
she has this little "squeak" of a meow, and she's tiny - so we named her Pip, short for pip-squeak.
