| PSA - Walgreens allows pharmacists to put pets on the Family Generic Plans - |
It's up to the pharmacist, and according to the one we go to, usually, if you're a regular, they'll do it no problem. So long as it's a licensed Vet providing the scrip, just like a licensed MD needs to provide a human scrip. You can still have a regular pharmacy plan under your regular health plan - and if you've got a medical flex spending plan for your family, you might be able to include those meds on it... Their Family Generic Plan is $35 a year, and 3 month supplies of the meds covered under their list generally runs $12. They cover about 100 generics - Moggy's Tapizole generic was covered, as well as other generics for various other common generics, including some for cancer, high blood pressure, and allergies. We saved about $500 this year on his thyroid and high blood pressure prescriptions after we found out about this in March, and he was a much happier old man when we could provide him with his medicines regularly instead of struggling to come up with the $65 every two months - the cheapest our vet could find his meds (they have a pharmacy and price-match their meds online). Before we signed him up, he would often go two weeks or so if he ran out before payday.

| 2. Kroger will provide $4 generics in pet's name |
My veterinarian called two prescriptions in my pet's name in at my local Kroger's. They've got no problem with filling scrips for pets. Very cool.
