I have two rescue Shepherds who are a year old....sisters. They eat their own, and each others', poo. That means we have to get out to the doggy yard fast to clean it up if we don't want them snacking.

The other evening I was out trying to clean up a pile. Unfortunately, it's been raining here for like a week, and the yard is mud interspersed with pathetic patches of grass. I slipped on the muddy hill and fell in a mixture of mud and watery dog poo, nearly killing myself on the chain link fence with the boards at the bottom to keep them from digging an escape tunnel to freedom.

They were in the house at the time so I was spared the indignity of being laughed at by a couple of German Shepherds.

Me too! My housemate is out of town this week. Good Times. Right? Except when you are outnumbered by animals 4:1. And two of them are his *private* dogs so they will sleep with me, after they ask and then run away until I catch them to give them the very thing they asked for! He goes outside to smoke about 15 times a day, so they go too. (That's partly why it's good times when he's gone.) I don't do that, so I try to take them at regular times. Not working out so well. I went into the dark bathroom. At least it's on the washable rug. Later, vomit in the doorway! But that may have been the cat. He doesn't have his usual run of my room with these temporary bed mates, etc. I'm so tired. I had one child and obviously I am a one animal person too.
