My poor little Fred, he has been itching like crazy since we moved to a new house three weeks ago.
He did have occasional bouts before, but now has a bigger backyard and is outdoors more - my assumption is that it'ss some sort of environmental allergy, since his pattern has been to have seasonal problems (we're in North Florida).
Anyway, he's on antibiotics (for the sores), prednizone, anti-histimines (hydroxizine in the morning, Benadryl at night since it seems to calm him a bit more), getting cool baths with oatmeal and/or tea tree oil & aloe, and getting sprayed with moisturizing conditioner. He's also on a new Hypoallergenic food, just in case it IS a food allergy.
And still, he itches all day and most of the night.
He goes back to the vet on Friday, but in the meantime - have I missed anything?

When I saw your subject line, I thought I could give you a few suggestions, but you're already doing everything I was going to suggest. I'm sorry. :-(
Are there any plants in your new backyard? Something that Fred hasn't been exposed to before. Perhaps he's coming in contact with a certain plant (or eating it) and it's causing the allergic reaction. Another thought ... has any kind of chemical been used on the grass, such as fertilizer or insecticide? Even a "pet safe" product could have something in it that causes an allergic reaction.
I'd give the vet a call tomorrow and say that the medication isn't helping. Perhaps it can be changed (or increased) and Fred can get a little relief before Friday.
Good luck! :hi:

Some dogs have severe flea allergies that cause itching, etc... Hope you find the cause...z
