Mischief has gone chasing lizards.
This afternoon, our long-time friend and companion, Mischief, left us. She left behind the pain of her tumor and all the physical restrictions of her old age. She would have been 18 this October.

My daughter, who was just a little girl when we got Mischief as a 3-month-old kitten, couldn't be here, but I held our old friend until the very last and told her we loved her. I told her that she could soon again be chasing those quick little canyon lizards that she loved to catch and then turn loose in the house when she was younger.

During the last couple of years, Mischief mothered Sable, Izzy, and Sudi into their young adulthood, was entertained by their kittenish antics, and enjoyed lounging in the sun with them.

We will never forget her.

she lived a good, long life and until you meet again at the rainbow bridge, she will be chasing lizards up and down the clouds.

4. Thank you all.
Your kindness and empathy are greatly appreciated. :grouphug:

Mischief's fosterlings intuited my sadness yesterday and crowded close to comfort me. This morning, they're back to normal, waking me up early and playfully badgering me for attention. So on we go....

7. Mischief was a beautiful cat. Of the cats I've known, tortoiseshells are the
smartest of all and usually the busiest. She is at peace and you made the right decision. So sorry you will miss her furry litte presence. Happy hunting, dear Mischief.

9. I'm so sorry for your loss of Mischief.
My Shadow is approaching 16 years of age - I can't even think about losing him, although I know it is inevitable. My kitties love to chase (and catch) lizards, too.
