Has anyone tried fleabusters rx with sucess? Have done sprays, drops, etc. and now found more fleas

Last year we got fleas from my Grandmother's cat. My Mother would go and bath him for her and comb out fleas when the drops she used didn't work. Some of the evil little bugs came home with her so our 9 all got 'em. I hate chemicals but better that then let them dig themselves raw so we vacuumed, sprayed and used drops. Frontline didn't work so we tried biospot which did. Well this year we got them again, don't know how this time as all our cats are indoor only cats. Biospot didn't work so then we tried advanatage which seemed do. We sprayed rugs & furniture as well with a spray from the vet. Waiting between treatments 3 scratched some spots raw so we had to get steroid shots and dose them with antibiotics :( All seemed well but then I found a *#&($&#(*&(#$ flea on me last night and another today on poor Michael who is one of the allergic ones! ARGH! & so I ask has anyone tried the fleabusters powder, did it work and were there any bad effects? 3. I believe it something like borax but supposed to be less toxic

I will have to poke around some more. I will look into the diatomaceous earth but I already know essential oils are toxic to cats. They lack the ability to break them down. Humans have a limited ability which is why it is OK to use 'em diluted on skin but not actually ingest and I *think* dogs can as well. Most of my cats are ragdolls which seem to be more sensitive to everything so I do my best to give them the minimum dose of anything possibly toxic. We only do flea drops when they get fleas, minimum number of booster shots, stuff like that.

2. Program

When our four-legged friends (a yellow lab and two cats) had fleas, our holistic vet told us to sprinkle boric acid where the fleas might be - wherever the animals sleep and treat the animals with Program. It's an oral flea medicine and you can get the cat treatment in an oral suspension. I mix it with tuna and the cats take it with no problem. You leave the boric acid down for a day and then vacuum it up and it kills any fleas on the furniture or floor. I put Frontline on the beasties to get rid of the fleas they had. Since then we've only used the Program once a month and it seems to be doing the trick.

4. having used boric acid to kill ants I am leary of using it around my cats

we might end up trying program tho as we have run out of other chemical crap to against fleas have survived everything else.

5. Anyone feed their cat yeast for fleas w/sucess and if so how did you get them to eat it?

currently to get something into my cats it has to be a liquid with two people - 1 holding and 1 squirting it into their mouth. Or if it isn't too horrible tasting or smelling like lysine I can mix it a jar of baby turkey. I give them lysine if one starts sneezing as one of the cats came from a shelter with an upper respitory infection and drippy eye that came back and then shared. I read that some people tried the amino acid lysine with success so wanting to spare the cats and us humans the 10 days of eye drops and antibiotic drops twice daily (not to mention the $$$) I tried mixing about 1 tsp lysine powder with baby food for 3 days. It seemed to have worked as the sneezing stopped, did not spread an and one got weeping eyes like the previous times the former shelter kitty started the machine gun sneezing.

7. I used Fleabusters about 15 years ago when we couldn't get

rid of the fleas! I live in California, a giant ant hill and flea mound! I had an aging cat at that time and it worked beautifully. I believe they (Fleabusters) will tell you that it is non-toxic to animals but you should check this out as it has been a long time ago. It got rid of the ants forever too.

8. The brand doesn't matter. It is an ancient remedy. Boric acid.

The fleas live in the carpet. They lay eggs there, and the eggs hatch at a certain time of year or temperature.
The boric acid dries out the carpet to the point that they can't live there. Products on the cat will do you no good. The fleas and eggs need moisture to survive and the boric acid dries them out. To death. Skull and crossbones.
I have most recently used Terminator brand (no relation to Arnold). It is 100% boric acid, look for that, and get the cheapest one.
Follow the directions on the 5 lb container.
