yes, we could have fought the good fight... but it is not worth putting the old guy through all of that.
Now we have my nanday knowing something happened to his buddy... and I know we will miss the old guy.
It hurts but we did the best for him... and at 23 it was like saying good bye to a one hundred year old person.
RIP old guy... you will be missed.

He lived a long happy life. I hope you find some comfort in that. Just lavish extra attention and love on Nanday -- he's going to need it now, and it will help you to get through this as well.
