My cat adopted my water glass for all his drinking needs and ceased to use a bowl. So I have now provided 2 glasses for him to drink out of, one of which I leave on my desk.He now has started to use his paw, dipping it into the water, I guess to determine the water level before he sticks his snout in too deep.
And then splashes his wet paw in the air, flinging water in all directions, frequently onto my head.
I guess he thinks this is funny. As much as cats can think things to be funny.

    | 2. My cat Mia loves to play with water |

    | | I eventually bought a Drinkwell fountain when I got tired of cleaning up water from the bowl she turned over. She would drink and then bump the bowl with her paws eventually turning it over. She can't do it with the fountain, though she still tries. When I'm getting ready in the morning most days she wants me to fill up the sink for her to have a drink. |
