living with the wolfman

Hi all,

I am new here and wanted to say hi. I also wanted to recommend a TV program that I have been watching lately. It is called Living with the Wolfman and is on animal planet on Tuesdays at 10:30 PM. I know its not about dogs per say, but it is really interesting. Lots of great insights on how we can relate to animals other than our own species by following their rules. Anyway check it out it is also pretty entertaining.

about animals. Does not have to be about cats and dogs. Since we appreciate how important animals are to our world and to us, we can learn by watching shows like this.

I've seen it advertised but haven't watched it yet. Do they tend to show anything that'll make me cry? I know nature is nature, but I can't ever bring myself to watch one animal killing another. Yes, I know it's for food, but it's still disturbing for me to watch.

Maybe not a good match for you...although besides some of the "nature", i have really gotten a lot out of the program. It seems to also be a study of human nature as well.

You reminded me of a book I read some years ago, describing, as I recall, the relationships/development of wolves and dogs. Wish I could remember the name and author now!

I may have the channel wrong...hey where do you "live to hike"? I used to do a lot of hiking around summit county colorado...embarrassed to say i never did a 14'er.

8. Back home in PA now and hiking through the woods here

but we lived in CA for over 13 years and hiked all over the San Gabriels and Laguna Mtns :-). We were supposed to come to CO this past August and hike a 14'er with a friend (Long's Peak); however, I fell on a cement boat ramp and broke my scapula, three ribs and punctured a lung a week before our trip. I was so disappointed. Our friend is originally from Denver, so he has done a lot of hiking in the area.

I'm just now getting back in shape and we hope to do the trip in August 2010. It will be my first 14'er.

That sounds so painful! Long's peak is awesome...never climbed it but been there and heard lots. good luck on your recovery stack a rock for me if you get there. really miss the mountains as i am living in detroit. just went to PA Past summer...mechanicsburg...lots of poison ivy!
