The caption beside it: A U.S. Marine from Lima Company, 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marines, drops down some stalks for a cow belonging to a local rancher who asked him to help feed his cows grazing in a field where the Marines were staging in Leogane, Haiti, Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010. Marines arrived in Leogane and in Port-au-Prince on Tuesday to supplement ongoing aid to the severely earthquake damaged country. http://news.yahoo.com/nphotos/Massive-earthquake-hits-Haiti-Port-au-Prince/ss/events/wl/011210haitiquake/im:/100120/481/962da73552ba42b9a412a30a3067a6e4/print;_ylt=AvEEifjUK2Fpp4J0x4lkbCjlWMcF

There are a number of groups to donate to in order to help animals. In Haiti, it isn't just pets and service animals at risk, but livestock which are also at risk. I found a pic of a dog in the earthquake sitting on the roadside, but I won't post it.

(ramusa.org) organization, which was founded by Stan Brock who used to be on Wild Kingdom. They send medical and veterinarian teams to remote areas to help rescue and treat people and animals. They provided a lot of help during/after Hurricane Katrina and they now have a team in Haiti. They're still a small organization, but growing (I hope) and all of the doctors, nurses, vets, dentists, and opthamologists and other medical personnel are volunteers. They are located in Knoxville, TN and have really worked hard at keeping their administrative costs to a bare minimum. This is the group that held all of the huge free medical/dental/opthalmology clinis across the country last year.
I don't work for this organization, but I support them every chance I get!
