    | Cat parents: Do you prefer Frontline or Advantage? |

    | |
I have six cats, all over 9 lbs (that's an issue with Advantage, not sure if it is with Frontline).
I've used Advantage in the past, but am leaning toward Frontline b/c it says it also kills flea eggs, not just fleas.

Any thoughts or input very much appreciated. :hi:

    | | badly to both - quit using. Flea comb them every night and vacuum daily - dispose of vaccumed dirt daily. |

    | 2. I would like an answer to this as well. |

    | | I'm using Advantage now on my two feline furkids, but only because it was cheaper. I'm going to pay attention this time and not let any nests develop. |

    | 3. I've only ever used Frontline Plus |

    | | mostly because of the flea egg killing issue. I don't want any of those nasty little critters ever getting ahold anywhere, and my cats are all indoor cats. I do take care of a feral cat outdoors, and I put it on him too. I just think that the more protection I can offer them, the better. JMHO. |

    | 4. Revolution is the winner in the flea battle |

    | | Hands down!!! That stuff works better than anything I've ever tried, and also helps get rid of worms. |

    | 5. We are battling fleas with little success. Both dogs have Revolution and |

    | | the cat has Advantage. The porch kitty has no protection because we can't get that close to her. I think she is the reason we can't get rid of the pests. Just washed both dogs in flea shampoo and 20 minutes later got 5 fleas off the white dog. Could it be that Advantage did not work because the cat is around 20 pounds? The vet said that Revolution only stops the flea from reproducing. Is that true? All of this is making me very itchy... |

    | 6. I don't know what the deal is with Revolution |

    | | Edited on Mon Apr-12-10 06:48 AM by Kookaburra but it stopped our flea problem when nothing else worked. Last summer we had a mess on our hands with all the fleas (same as you, we have an outside kitty that won't let anyone touch him), and the inside cats were crawling with them. We tried Advantage first, and it sort of calmed things down for a few days (maybe a week), but the fleas came back with a vengeance. Then our vet recommended we try Revolution, and that did the trick. No more fleas.

    | 7. I've used Advantage on my two cats for a couple of years now |

    | | and found it to work well. I've never used Frontline so I can't offer an opinion on it.
Advantage does come in two dosing options. One for cats 9 lbs and under and one for cats 9 lbs and over.

My vet assures me it's safe to use as often as twice a month if needed.

    | 8. I use Revolution on the cats and K-9 Advantix or Frontline on the dog. |
