We rescued this little maltese mix
when her family hit hard times and couldn't afford to keep her (she needed to be spayed, finish shots, etc.). The family had other dogs and two children and said she was too nervous.........She is really jumpy, but she is adjusting to us well, that is until we brought Argos, our son's dog, home to dog sit. Now Argos (pictured) is a 180 lb adult mastiff. She has chased him out of the house, into the porch, and unless I make her, and keep a lead on her, will not let him into the house. On top of that I took her today to have her groomed and the results are pictured here. The groomer said she had mats that she had to cut out so she had to go short.....

Argos:

Cocoa Before:

Cocoa after:

I have to keep reminding myself the hair will grow back because right now she looks like a curly Chinese Crested. She is literally half the size she was.

I love animals they keep things so lively.

1. Awww, I love when you post pics of Argos
:-) and Cocoa is a sweetie too! Sounds like she has made herself at home. The two of them will become good friends.

3. Thanks for the encouragement
Right now I have to keep her on a lead when he is in the house or Cocoa will chase him and actually bite at him. He got so scared, he wet a little on the floor! I Took her to a pet gathering that was going on locally just to give him some respite. The funny thing is she was perfect there with a lot of big dogs around, so it must just be in our house. She tried the obstacle course that was set up and after one trial she could do all the jumps and ramps so I'm going to take her to some trainings, maybe she needs more activity to become calmer.

4. Another suggestion would be to get a plastic type muzzle
one that is like a little cage and put them in a neutral place and let them work out their differences. The muzzle will prevent her from biting, she will be bothered by it at first but she will learn to ignore it.
