| Our rescue dog arrived today |
|
and I couldn't be happier with him. Benji is an 8 year old shih tzu/poodle blend. He is deaf, as skinny as a rail and so sweet you just have to love him. We have not yet heard him bark, he's had no accidents and has a very healthy appetite. I was so impressed by the people at the rescue. They thoroughly investigated us by calling our vet, our groomer and a family member living outside the house. They traveled over a hundred miles to do a home visit before we were approved to adopt Benji. They brought him to us today along with food, treats and paper work. Benji had been neutered, has all his shots, his teeth have been cleaned and he just had a shampoo. All this for only $175 dollars! Rescues are wonderful. I will be donating to them regularly.

| 5. I work with animal rescue groups and am sooooo grateful for what |
|
they do. I volunteer for a Friends of the Shelter group. The shelter in our county is a high-kill facility and our group does everything possible to get out as many animals before the euthanasia date. It is amazing how the rescue groups go into action when they accept dogs/cats from our shelter. They have people at every stage of the game and everyone I've ever encountered has been so willing to do whatever it takes to get an animal in a good home. I applaud these folks and hope they know how valuable their service is, to mankind and animalkind.

It always makes me jump for joy when an elderdog finds a loving forever-home. We're fostering a 10yo BC/Pit mix who is the SWEETEST girl on life.
I have a dear friend who this year adopted one dog who is deaf and another who's near-blind. She is the best trainer I've ever met. If you have questions, just PM me and I'll get ya in touch.
