Damn it so much...life just sucks sometimes.
Saturday night my little Shimrod was hit by a car while I was at work. My weekend guest called me at work to inform me of this.
:nuke:
I just went cold all over...no, not Shimrod. Not my sweet, cuddly, playful, trusting, happy boy...he was only 11 weeks old, for crying out loud! I'd just given him his first booster shot for distemper a week ago, right on time...
All I can do is try to be philosophical...he had twice as long a life with me as he would have without, and it was a good one...but DAMN IT all to hell and back!
He had so much potential...and I was so looking forward to watching it unfold.

I believe the grief that comes with the serious illness or loss of a young animal also carries a grief that mourns the loss of potential for what might have been.
I'm so sorry for your loss.
