Anyone used knuckle bones to help keep their dog's teeth clean?

6. Sorry you lost your Toni...i lost two my Belle and Razzie several

months ago...within ten days of each other. Still
miss them terribly. Their breeder said she had been keeping
Skye for me because she knew the day was coming. At my age i really
wasn't going to get another dog, but couldn't resist....z

4. I've been working with my pup

He'll let me put my finger in his mouth and rub his teeth and gums.

I've recently added a bit of dog flavored toothpaste to my finger.

I hope to be able to brush his teeth with a finger brush and eventually work up to a doggie toothbrush.

I also supplement his regular food with some dry oral care food - which he really seems to like.

5. Haven't seen dry oral care dog food...do you have a source/brand name?

I use dental bones from Costco, but they don't
help clean the front fangs. Thanks........z

Science Diet Adult Oral Care dog food.

I use it to supplement his regular food and feed my little 14 pound guy maybe 10 pieces a day. They are crunchy and considerably larger than regular size dog food pellets.

That sounds like an odd thing to call it. Does it taste like a dog?

On a more serious note, what is it, and where do you get it? My doggie could probably use some.

So far I have only tried the vanilla flavored doggie toothpaste with my pup.

I've been told that brushing once or twice a week is adequate so that's what we do.

11. I brush our dogs' teeth three times a week

but have had Murphy's teeth cleaned once (he is 8.5). I give them marrow bones as a treat, but not necessarily to clean their teeth.

Petsmart has chicken flavored toothpaste for dogs. You don't need to use much of it while brushing.
