Who Do you like best - Bill Clinton or Howard Dean. Why?

1. Not that I dislike Bill Clinton

But Howard Dean convinced me that I actually could make a difference, I really could change the Democratic Party and bring about the America I want to live in, With Clinton, the emphasis was what he would do; with Dean, it's what we will do.

A two term president who presided over a magnificent economy and made huge strides towards international understanding ( remember the PEACE DIVIDEND?)

And a leader of a new movement to revitalize the democratic party. return political power to the people and remove the reigns of power from corporate lobbyists?

Things are very sensitive right now. I don't post at DU now about Dean, and in fact I have quit posting here at all for a little while.

Things are sensitive, and you need to be considerate of us as well.

I am afraid to post here at DU anymore for now. When you post in here it makes us feel on guard. We are no longer allowed to talk about the primaries, is my understanding, so some consideration is in order.

It is good if you support Dean for chair. That is nice. But I see a friend of mine being made fun of and it hurts.

5. Why would this be important right now?

I am serious. Why would it matter right now who I like the best? Why does it matter at all?

Why isn't this out in GD or GDP?

Clinton is not running for office. Howard Dean is.

Clinton has changed. I supported him for eight years, but I do believe the gossip about him working against Gore and Dean in 2004. I think he has stepped over a line with me. I do care about him. I felt horrible when he was sick. But I trust, respect and like Dean, Gore, The CBC and many populist democrats more than I do the Clintons or thier loyal FOB.

I don't know exactly where, but I don't think it is right. It would be a lot of fun to have Clinton win over Dean in a DFA forum. It concerns me that it is linked.
I can not prove it but some can, and I wish they would take care of it nicely.
I think when people realize where it is, many back off. Some don't realize.

Clinton was a good president, and the country did well under him. I simply prefer Howard's view for the future of the party.

That and Clinton's helping to torpedo Dean in the primaries....snaky politics.

Thank goodness Kerry was so electable, or we'd really be fucked right now.

Dean because of the civil unions in VT and I am a crushie. Also, I didn't like Clinton's support of DOMA and his adultery. However, Clinton was a decent president and certainly did not deserve all that impeachment baloney. If only we could at least try to impeach Bush...arrgh!

Dean was willing to stand up for his principles, even when they were unpopular. Dean began tackling gay rights head on way before MA... and Clinton still believes he is wrong in this regard.
Dean is also extrememly passionate in his speeches... moreso than Clinton.

For that matter, Al Gore is still a viable candidate for President. How many Americans wish that Al Gore was elected in 2000 and the Bush presidency had never started? More and more every day, I bet.

21. I voted for Howard Dean, but it was a tough choice.

I voted for Bill Clinton, twice, for president, and was pleased and thankful that he won. But, lately, I've had some doubts about him. If he was able to run again, he'd certainly have my vote. His intelligence and intuition is unparalleled in modern history, despite my choice of avatar, Jimmy Carter, a true hero of mine. But his cozying up to the Bushes, recently, has made me really uncomfortable. I consider them to be next to Satan in their beliefs and actions. And I do know that Bill Clinton is more of a centrist, than a liberal. Howard Dean is not as liberal as my candidate, Dennis Kucinich, either, but I do trust him to look after the interests of his constituents and not sell out. He's the right guy for the right time. I voted for Howard Dean.:-)
