Right Wing "Democratic" Senators? |
|
thought would not vote for anything more
While checking out Daily Kos, I came across a list of Senators who some poster thought would not vote for any health care reform more liberal than the Senate bill. I think it's pretty dead on, with the possible exception of Boxer. However, I do believe all of them put their own re-election first.
Thought I would preserve it here in case we want to call these folks someday.
Lieberman Lincoln Nelson (both) Webb Landrieu Bayh Pryor (AR) Tester McCaskill Hagan And probably Boxer (election worries) Feinstein Baucus Conrad Warner Johnson (SD)

1. Need another list of all the Dem leaders who will remain silent or inactive wrt the SCOTUS decision. |

Listen carefully for what conservative DU'ers say about the SCOTUS decision too.
Silence can be very telling.
My Congress person just excuses his level of inaction as preferring to work behind the scenes. That is no longer good enough if it ever was because I can't see the evidence.

2. I'm worried a few of these will renege on |
|
their support of the senate bill. I went and read an article or two at
his hometown paper. The comments section was brutal including a story
that he walked into a pizza place and was booed at and told to leave by the patrons.
He would look for any possible reason to get out of this.

4. You'da figured, once he campaigned for McCain, they would have made him sit in a corner. But no, |
|
he kept the chair of his choice.

always giving 'benefit of doubt.' Was sure wrong re: my husb! In court to get share of house sale proceeds! (Sorry for OT, but that's life, I'm afraid.)

8. It will be hard for me to believe there has been any change in |
|
Congress as long as Lieberman sits as Chair of the Homeland Security Committee.
I'll believe it's business as usual as long as I see it's business as usual.

6. I'm not too worried about Boxer but the rest of that gang is dicey on a good day |
|
The House smells the high hat coming their way. I'm not sure they can even be counted on to preserve the union deal because a good amount of them have little or no union presence and work for big business anyway.
I wouldn't pass this toxic mess without more than they are willing to give (assuming honest brokering) and my bar is a lot lower than most but if a deal could be struck, I'd demand no less than a notarized contract with 51 (+1 for a Byrd contingency) signatures (including Reid's) plus Obama's and Biden's.

7. Not a chance on Boxer -- |
|
She would certainly vote for a much more liberal version of HCR despite her elections worries here in CA.
