Thank you All for the incredible well-wishes |

to each other. I'm just regaining my senses
I can't tell you how being able to see such goodwill every day during this holiday helped me to get through it!!! Really, I had about a million people - seemed like a million, just 20 in and out of here for 4 days. It was great madness filled with feisty little girls who refused to sleep, cranky 80 year old dad who I have to apologize to - though the argument was not my fault - being a shuttle driver, kids' new boyfriends and girlfriends (I'm deliciously reserving later judgment ) oh yeah, tons of food meaning tons of cleaning and other insanities. The usual holiday with family
Yeah, let's do it again next year! Who's with me??? Not me  No, really there were lots of good times, tons of laughter and no one died from overeating :)

1. I don't know why this turned into an OP. |

I was replying to the well-wishing one. See, I'm still crazy!

LOL!
Glad you had a glorious holiday, even with all the craziness!
Me? I treasure my quiet, solitary holidays. Everyone thinks I'm crazy, especially when I'm alone over the Christmas holiday, but I look forward to that quiet time like you wouldn't believe. Other than volunteering with Meals-On-Wheels and/or the local shelter or food bank, it is very much ME time, knowing my daughter is having great fun in NYC with her dad and Mark is with his family in Wisconsin.
Just me and the kittehs have the house to ourselves. Yay!!!!
But I'll gladly send hugs of support your way as you and others ready for the next round of family insanity and chaos!! ;)

4. Lucky! No, I don't think you're crazy at all. |
|
OneGrassRoot, before my parents moved here the holidays were nice, quiet mini vacations. All us sisters liked it just fine with occasional meet-ups. Now, they're here and have to see Everybody all at once. I'll take the hugs of support because Christmas is just around the corner

Sounds like you had too good a time and that you really love your family members (despite the occasional argument). Didn't you get the memo? You are required to despise your family members and label all relationships as dysfunctional, or you're not allowed to post on DU. Your tombstone will be delivered in the next half hour or so.
Seriously, so glad you had a "relatively" good time (get it? snarf) and you all survived.
So! What's on for Christmas? :hi:

my days on DU are numbered
Took me a minute but I get it, funny girl.
Christmas! I'm bringing everybody with me to your beautiful newly remodeled house

I can handle it! My shiny new dining room laughs at the threat of an influx of people. Ha-HAH!
Hey, I can accommodate a wackjob uber-Catholic aunt who worships Glen Beck--I can handle ANYthing! (Wait...does that mean my family is dysfunctional? Phew--I can stay on DU! :P )
Seriously, I come from a formerly huge Italian family, now sadly shrunken. I miss "the good old days" when we used to have people packed to the rafters for holidays.
