| 4. Can we define the crooks? |
|
We need to get specific, imho, 'cause there are too many people who feel democrats, liberals, "socialists," environmentalists, etc., are the crooks, thanks to Faux and Limbaugh and the mind-numbing efforts of corporate media.
Seeing the "I Choose" graphic under your question made me realize the whole "I Choose" campaign can be more...and more specific, to address comments/questions such as yours, Dear Rick.
I CHOOSE: Main Street not Wall Street
I CHOOSE: A Free Press not Corporate Media
I CHOOSE: Facts not Fox
I'm working on this whole thing this weekend, thanks to the encouragement of you guys and others...but need to get MagickMuffin's fundraiser situated first.

But for you entrepreneurs or budding entrepreneurs and visionaries, we could use this one simple project -- the "I Choose..." Campaign -- to create something different.
As I've written about repeatedly, I'm very enamored of cooperative ventures -- worker-owned companies, member-owned ventures, marketing collectives, etc.
I'm sincere in my focus on The Common Good and doing things differently, CREATING new ways of DOING everything.
If people have ideas about this I Choose Campaign concept and want to contribute their own creations and resources and ideas to be part of it, we could start the first official collective via I Choose. There is absolutely no reason that others can't benefit from ideas.
This is what I mean when I talk about people having a vested interest in Wishadoo -- to truly directly BENEFIT in some way by being part of the initiatives that are developed and rolled out.
If you've ever belonged to a typical food co-op, for example, in which there is a membership fee yet people receive benefits as members, I really want to work toward creating similar cooperatives and collectives for MANY new concepts.
We could start with I CHOOSE...a very simple idea, with very simple merchandising concepts...but then we can eventually move toward cooperative efforts for retrofitting and converting buildings locally, providing training and jobs for the community while making things more environmentally responsible and energy efficient; urban gardening and permaculture initiatives (or working with existing groups who have the systems in place, like Transitions, etc.).
We can do these things while simultaneously working to change the system. There is so much we, as a collective with focused intent, can do.
One step at a time. PM me or contact me via Wishadoo if you're interested but don't want to engage here (I'm discovering that many people read here but aren't members). :)
