On November 29 WikiLeaks released hundreds of thousands of U.S. State Department cables that reveal some of the behind-the-scenes thinking in the nation’s diplomatic corps. This provoked comments of concern from American officials claiming that exposure of these documents is damaging to foreign policy and the security interests of the U.S. and its allies. Whether this will prove true in the long run is still to be seen, but the planetary patterns behind this event are clearly visible right now.
