If it worked for Morning Glow... |
|
Edited on Thu Mar-24-11 11:22 AM by Dream Girl
I'm a long time lurker here, but very rarely post here. I was thinking about MG Jr.'s soap box derby drama and hoping you all can help my son in the same way. I really need your help. He has applied to two middle schools and has been wait listed for admission. He has had academic issues and a slight learning disability throughout elementary school which he has worked so very hard to overcome. He is pretty devastated right now because he feels like all of his hard work will have been wasted. I really don't want to send him the message that hard work doesn't pay off especially because he has come such a long way academically. His test scores were poor even though he now does very well in school. I don't want him to give up as he enters his middle school. Please send support and good vibes to him that he gets in and that we get a decent financial aid award as we could never afford the tuition. I know he would thrive at either school.

3. Thank you. He is a sweetie, very kind and gentle, empathetic |
|
He definitely has purpose. I've posted some things about him here before. Sometimes the thing he says gives me the chills. When he was about 7 or 8 he said to me, "Mom what if this isn't real?" I said "what if what's not real?" and he just looked at me, kind of swept his arms around and said. "All of this". Yikes.

...'academic success' isn't "real"? I hope he doesn't let their standards define his worth.
Sounds to me like he is already asking the right questions.

4. I will add my Light and Love to his and add extra vibes to him |
|
But with that being said, Please PLEASE express this very important message to him. Even if he does not get accepted his hard work was NOT wasted. He has learned from it in the process, and that it has shown him that he CAN master his hardships. No one should ever feel as though that hard work goes without notice. He deserves to at least recognize that he has a driving force within himself that with that hard work he has mastered a challenge that most people take for granted.
Good Luck to ____________________ !

7. Sending vibes of support and encouragement, and ask that |
|
dear Jack is accepted to the school that will help him realize his potential in the most supportive environment. This or something better for the greater good of all.
I also worked with my son through his difficulties as a youngster. Once he told me, after he was college-bound, that what had helped him the most was that "I always thought I would be okay because I could tell YOU thought I would be okay." So I just want to say that I think you are doing the same for your son, and I feel a loving kinship in that.
Take care, DG!
