"It Was Dark, and I Was Very Confused"

I had awoken too fast, it must have been from the rough night I had last night at.....

My focus returned to the present and I found myself staring at my feet, hoping they wouldn't falter when. . .

7. The cat jumped down off the trashcan, making another loud crash.

"Thanks, cat," I thought. "I was this close to figuring it all out. Life, the universe and everything; the secret of pie; why bread always lands peanut butter side down..."

The feline darted off into the shadows as I recollected my thoughts, trying to get back to that moment of brilliance.

then a single leap through to the sound/not-sound of "whoosh" as I was enveloped in indescribable brightness only to flop hard on my assets looking right into....
