My best friend of 35 years has a solid mass on one ovary. We don't know if it's benign or malignant. She sees a gynecological oncologist today. She's only 45 & has a family history of cancer. Thanks in advance.

The gynecological oncologist is "cautiously optimistic!" At this writing, it looks like the mass is contained in her ovary, & the dr. didn't see anything that sent up any red flags. We won't be 100% sure of anything until she has surgery & they get it out of there, but we can breathe a little easier.

17. Update #2:

She's having robotic surgery next Friday, May 6th. So glad this will all be over soon!

18. Looks like...

...the colonoscopy revealed a mass in her colon too. So the surgery will be more intensive than we thought, but I'm still praying for a full and speedy recovery. I am, frankly, terrified. My deepest thanks to all.
