First the Murdoch thing--I can't even count how many times people have been quoted in the news articles saying "Karma's a b!tch" or the equivalent. Always citing karma. Innnnnteresting.
Second, "carmageddon", which turned into "carmaheaven"--Angelenos learned it's not only possible to live without driving on the freeway for a day or two, but the peace and quiet was actually quite pleasant and (gasp) preferable.
I dunno, these two things just struck me as vivid examples of how we can live a more peaceful, just, and balanced life. This is the way things COULD be...if we let them. Sure hope people remember these... :)

"carmaheaven". It's actually quite funny, most people I know aren't even leaving their homes! I very, very carefully ventured out on Saturday (I live in The Valley and we have our own world here) to run some errands and I've never seen less traffic in all the years I've been here. Target was wonderful; once again, the fewest number of people I've ever see there on a Saturday. For once, the media did it right - they scared the crap out of everyone and rightly so.
As far as Murdoch goes, KARMA REALLY IS A BITCH - FINALLY HE'S GETTING HIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

And slowing down is an amazing thing when you can do it. My hobbies can cause me to slow down at times and it is quite peaceful
Oh the Karma, I have been feeling so long that the big evil guys don't ever have to pay up, I am starting to start wondering if some justice is possible. I am still not sure Murdoch will get his in the US (because I think we are too far gone for justice still) but I am starting to entertain the fantasy of it.

"forced" to stay home this weekend. I try to do all my running around during the week and stay home on the weekends, enjoying my home, family, and the nature that surrounds us. Of course I realize this is impossible/impractical for most folks.
