Ok, I know this shouldn't bother me but it does a bit |
|
Recently on FB, I friended someone from college who went off to Hollywood. We worked together for several years in college, on & off stage & often we were cast in parts together. So he went one way, I went another. No problem there. He sent me a PM & I responded, telling him I was very happy for his success, had always sent good vibes his way, & that seeing him on TV & in movies (for a long time they were like happy surprises, since he was only getting small parts) always made me happy. That was it. That was a week ago, & he still hasn't responded back with even a simple "thank you." wth?
Now I'm wondering if all this time, my perception of what our college days were like is completely different than his. It's not like we were ever a couple (dammit) & had a lousy break-up, so that's not an excuse.
Thanks for letting me get this off my chest.

1. A lot of people at facebook |
|
don't realize they have new messages. It malfunctions often and doesn't notify, etc. When that has happened to me, I usually contact the friend again and they tell me, thanks. They didn't know I had written.

6. I think I'm one of those. I haven't looked at my FB |
|
in months. I've been too busy lately to do much on computer except what I need to do.

About the messaging thing malfunctioning--that just happened with me and Lildreamer316, in fact.
And sometimes people don't check FB as much as we think they do.
Definitely don't take it personally. :)

4. He could be on location somewhere, or having a busy patch. |
|
Sometimes I check my FB all the time, and then, if I get busy, I don't have time to check it. Chances are, in a few days/weeks he will answer your message and all will be good. Don't take it personally. He obviously values your friendship or he would not have friended you and sent any messages.

7. I concur w/others here.....summer is a busy time. |
|
FB can get overwhelming at times. If he's "made it", he may get loads of friend requests & has to take the time to sort through them. If he's working (& we hope he is), he may not have the time to deal w/it.
Don't imagine a hurt that you aren't sure exists.....that just boils down to you hurting you. ;)
