Anyone with a feeling, vision or reading
on whether the debt ceiling will be raised or not by deadline? I had a creepy feeling all week something bad would happen but now think it was the massacre in Norway. However, as with the continuing depressing situation in Japan, the desperation in SE Africa.. I just don't see things turning around for the positive anywhere and everything screams to me to stock up, gather my loved ones, keep my nose to the grindstone and hunker down.

1. The energy is still changing to the positive with 2012 as the demarcation of the New Positive.
Edited on Sat Jul-23-11 01:10 PM by Fire Walk With Me
Houses of cards are crumbling, responsibility is ensconsing, and the bad people are working hard to destroy the world's economies and currencies, partly in the belief that they can then own everything, and partly just because they can.

I remind that this year was called "unpalatable", and I firmly agree.

Don't allow the possible depth of trouble if things go sour to sway you from remembering that the positive is indeed on the rise as the new way. It is fixed, it is occuring, and what counts is how we deal with it. The negative certainly won't deal with it "well" as their power evaporates.

What kind of world do we want? It is up to us. Are we out in the streets about the debt ceiling? No, and as such, we don't have an extremely strong "say" in it. If they pass measures hurting people, or worse, just allow republican exclusionism to stall things completely, there will be blowback. Obama is a straight shooter; he said that if the debt ceiling isn't raised, it will be catastrophic. The republicans WANT a catastrophic result. They and their international money buddies are trying to finish what Bush started with 9/11 and later the funding of wall street and bad banks: the collapse of world economies/currencies, so that they can own everything.

A teacher of mine who is much better at this sort of thing once said that it comes down to a struggle between those who just want to live in the world, and those who want to run it.

4. Seriously I doubt that our government
in Washington cares a fig about what we want. They are going to do what they want and, by proxy, what the people that hand them oodles of money want. It is not like we have anything to say about it.

5. I feel it will be raised only so they can save "face"
but they'll be busy screwing us in the meantime by twisting this and spinning that.
The poor old people are taking this hit.
Thank you F-News.

6. Yes,
The rethugs don't have a prayer of getting re-elected if they don't budge. Their in-boxes are flooded no doubt with hate mail. What can they do, they HAVE to move or the pitchforks start flying!

7. It's part of the breakdown of illusion
if we are moving into a new dimension and way of living - the illusions that so many are entrenched in *have* to come apart...

check this out: http://www.wtfnoway.com/

it's a visual example of the money we 'owe'
and it is NUTS

to me, the picture helps remind me what an illusion it all is. and I persoanlly may not be that upset of money changes into bartering and community

9. A reminder of what PC said about Obama.
He's a teacher, and is working to get republicans to play ball with the rest of us, which is a terribly slow process. I've heard him on the news putting the debt ceiling crisis responsibility entirely upon the republicans so they are going to have to do something here, even if to suffer blowback if they manage to stall the entire thing for their entitled corporations.

Obama has said clearly that it's up to US. WE have to get together and decide the course. Yes, WE can. Even if we have to get roiled up in order to learn this. It is imperative regarding the new energy/direction.

11. For whatever it's worth, I just wrote a

terse fax to my Congressman, Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy.

I just called your office about not touching Social Security and Medicare, programs that I, and other elderly widows and just the plain elderly, rely on. But I felt I had much more to say. First, I was raised in a Republican household and I know what real Republican values are although I’m not a Republican myself. However, what has emerged as a Republican philosophy after the days of Dwight D. Eisenhower are frankly un-American.

I was born at the end of the depression, so I never suffered the consequences of it, but my parents did. They knew Hoover’s policies were bad for the country and the economy. They would never have approved a return to that ideology, which was ushered back in, beginning with Ronald Reagan and was unfortunately perpetuated through the Bush years and now by our present Democratic President. They proudly voted for Eisenhower and then Nixon and lived long enough to be disappointed with that last choice. Fortunately, they died before they had to see the mockery of the Constitution and rule of law that subsequent Republican Presidents and politicians have made of it.

America has a contract with its working people. For every FICA deduction taken from their checks, there is a promise of a small pension and medical care should they live long enough to collect it. It’s no different than paying into life insurance all your life and then your family cashing in on the benefits when you die. You made a contract and the insurance company made a contract that they must honor when the conditions of the contract are met. Most of us know that those programs are administered separately and are in no danger of collapsing if left alone. They have nothing to do with the deficit, which is mostly caused by the bumbling administration of two illegal wars. There is where you need to cut.

I am appalled at the circus occurring in Washington at the expense of our people and our country just for political expediency. The Republican Party has become a religious cult and a tool of a few fat cats who fund it. Please if you have a shred of decency in your position of power, that of Majority Whip, start returning back to the real principles of the Republican Party as evidenced by former great Republicans, like Lincoln, Roosevelt, Eisenhower and yes even Nixon, who was a decent President when he wasn’t involved in back stabbing and other dirty practices.

Please give thought to what I have said because I find that two-thirds of my friends of both political stripes feel as I do. Thank you for your time. I know you don’t have to worry about being re-elected and are ready to move ahead on Cut, Cap and Balance, but this is so bad for the country. I don’t think this is what you will want history to remember you for.

Since I know it will end up in the trash, I also faxed Senator Barbara Boxer, so that she knows what Californians are thinking about this and maybe she can influence Harry Reid.

15. Obama's speech last night shook some things loose.
Americans are still feeling beaten up and disenfranchised by the BushCo bullies, and for good reason. Obama is leading the way to national empowerment and responsibility, and is calling us to unite.

18. I liked that he asked the country to call their congressmen and women
but I feel he gave us a false choice. He told us it had to be his way (balanced revenue + cuts) or their way (mostly all cuts) without any consideration of the other choices that exist.
