Tri Salts and Alka Seltzer Gold |
|
I'm still sort of into the pH stuff, and just found out that people are using Alka Seltzer Gold and Tri Salts for food reactions and for digestive upsets--also avoiding colds, etc., etc.
Has anyone here tried them?
Alka Seltzer Gold (WITHOUT the aspirin) is apparently difficult to find in drugstores but can be ordered online. I decided to order the Tri Salts instead because it contains calcium as a buffer as well as sodium and potassium.
So, naturally I plan to muscle test it when I get it. Amazon has a couple of good reviews of it, though people seem to really like the Alka Seltzer Gold as well.
In case anyone is following through with pH issues, I thought I would let you all know. They seem better options than traditional antacids, plus they are pretty inexpensive.

1. I just use 1/4 tsp of baking soda in a bit of water |
|
for indigestion, it works like a charm. For PH, 2 tbsp of apple cider vinegar with 1/4 tsp of baking soda. But thanks for the reminder, I haven't had any for a couple of days.

For some reason I don't muscle test well to baking soda. I'm not sure why. But one reason I decided against the Alka Seltzer Gold was because it only had sodium and potassium. I feel as if it might be more balanced with calcium added as well. But then again, I have to watch my sodium. I have to say, that my daughter sometimes dumps sodium so it could possibly work for her. Sometimes she uses plain salt.
I know the vinegar works well, but I also have tooth enamel issues. Even when I try it with a straw I feel like am getting a bunch of acid on my teeth. I've read various things about 1. be sure to brush your teeth after drinking vinegar water, and 2. be sure NOT to brush your teeth after drinking vinegar water, LOL, both because of toothe enamel issues.

3. If you have any congestive heart failure issues |
|
lower extremity edema etc. please don't use Alka-Seltzer, it is high in sodium which can cause some fluid overload. There are sodium substitutes like potassium chloride you can use unless contraindicated d/t medication interaction. Also, seaweed flakes are a good substitute as well.

4. or baking soda too, probably |
|
Anyone who needs to avoid sodium or potassium or calcium needs to be careful about these things. I like having the balance of all three, rather than just the baking soda.
