Prodigal cat is missing again |
|
and I fear this time it's for good. :( I don't know how I know this, but I just feel it. Last year, around Halloween, my calico cat Riki disappeared for a week. She turned up in a neighbor's storage room near their garage a week later. Last night, though, I called her & called her several times during the night & got no response. :( She had been very touchy lately about her tail & Saturday was dragging it. I told her I'd take her to the vet if she was still feeling badly, but the remainder of Saturday & yesterday, she wasn't dragging her tail. She still didn't want me touching it, though, even to stroke it like I normally do. Otherwise, she acted like she normally does, sleeping in her usual spots.
It got really cold (for here) last night, so I thought she'd show up eventually, but definitely by this morning. She didn't. :( While I'm afraid she wasn't feeling as good as she was letting on & may have gone off somewhere, I'm not torn up about it like I was last year. Of course I would like her home safe & sound, especially if she is that ill, so I can take care of her.
I'm sending out message to her, asking her to come home & that I love her. If you pick up anything on where she might be, please let me know. :(
TIA

feral/semiferal. Or is she just B-A-D like my cat, Lola?
So happy to hear the good news.

8. She goes crazy if she's left inside |
|
I don't like letting her out. But if she needs to go outside and doesn't, she literally climbs the walls. She does come inside at night and when I call her. Except for rare occasions like last night. She's with me right now. On my arm. So it's hard to type. Damn cat. LOL.

My one sister's cat disappeared for over a month once and the same happened - cat was sitting in the driveway when she got home one evening.

11. Don't you hate it when they act like nothing happened? |
|
or worse yet, they're pissed off at YOU for not being home when they're ready to come back inside?

4. Many years ago in the late sixties, |
|
We had a cat named Pickles, somewhat siamese-y. Very quiet, very polite.
Instead of jumping up on you, he would merely extend a paw and lightly "touch" an elbow, hoping for crumbs at the table.
Compared to our other cats, past and future he was the quietest, most well behaved pet we'd ever owned.
Then one night he went missing.
Of course we were devastated.
After several days and then a week, we'd given up on him.
On one night of the third week without Pickles, much to my mother's heartbroken surprise, she heard something at the door in the middle of the night.
Delighted, she took him in and fed him right away, and for most of the night and the next day he became a chatterbox, "telling" us of his grand adventure.
You never know who might return in the night.
