How come the dirt that comes out of the hole is never enough to refill it? |
|
Spent a great day outside doing everything from cardboarding an area I want to turn into a bed to transplanting seedlings to rescuing a sad Lantana from the "Distressed Plants $1" shelf at Lowes (went there to buy a bolt I needed and couldn't resist a swing thru the garden dept.)
While planting the last of my gladiola bulbs, I once again was struck by the fact that no matter how carefully I mound up all the dirt beside the cavity I'm digging, I always have to use some extra soil to completely refill the hole. Am I a bad hole-digger, or does this happen to anyone else?
