Mine are suffering too. I got a few handfuls off 3 (3 yr old) bushes this year. :(

On a rotating basis, we put some of our raised beds to sleep in the Winter by adding compost, covering them with Newspaper, and then mulch. We are careful to remove all of the glossy, painted inserts between the pages. In the Spring, we simply poke/tear holes in the newspaper, and plant through the holes.
