May I show off a bit? (Pic Heavy!)

This is my second year of outdoor gardening and I'm quite proud of myself! I've gotten alot of info from my sister, who has been gardening for a while now.

I guess my real success story is the petunias. I got seeds off last years baskets and grew these myself this year. I know. I can't believe it either!


These are million bells, marigolds and something-tall-in-the-middle that I planted in the burning pit.

There's also alot of perennials that my man had planted before I moved here. We added another raised bed because we couldn't stop buying crap every place we went! It's not grown in very well yet. Took us a while to get stuff in the ground. We are 50 after all!!

6. The second pic

Looks like Calibrachoa, aka Million Bells. I've always had good luck growing it in pots. Very Nice!

9. Yes, they are Calibrachoa

They're the Cali-Sunrise. My sister and I ordered some plugs from a wholesale place. About 3 weeks ago, they were getting a bit scraggly so I trimmed them back to about 6"-8" and they look like this pic again! They are fantastic bloomers, aren't they?

This was a supposedly doomed experiment on my part. Imagine my surprise when they turned into this! Sometimes it just amazes me what can come from something no bigger than this .!

I am broiling in northeast Iowa. So, most of these beauties will be dead in a couple of months. But, it gives me something to plan for next year when there's a foot of snow outside!
