| Has anyone used "dormant oil" to treat for fruit flies? |

What can you tell me about it? Never heard of it before and it was suggested to us as a way to get rid of an infestation we have in our gardens and berry patches from the neighbor's orchard.

I used a bordeaux mix, not an organic oil, but simple mix. I had tent caterpillars. We were also in Marine climate, and it was primarily for fungus and rust control. Of course with the nearby source of renewed infestations , it will be tough going. the best you can hope for is stronger trees getting a headstart on the bugs and minimize infestation.
