Does anything smell better than tomato vines???

1. We have some tomato plants

on the patio and the smell is wonderful. We had a Rosemary "tree" but I guess I killed it. That herb is quite aromatic. Pineapple Sage is nice as well and gets quite large and showy.

6. I can't resist brushing the leaves when I walk by a lemon verbena.

I have three of my own: one a small container plant in the patio scent/herb garden, and two in the ground that are trained up to tree-shaped shrubs.

But as the OP suggested, there's something about that tomato vine scent too..

3. Dill. We planted some in our boxes one year, and it went to seed.

Next year, it started growing between the planter boxes and we used to step on it as we were gardening.

OK - I am 52 years old,,,,,, but I had never REALLY smelled pines after a
rain, until I moved here..... man oh man.....

16. You know, it's funny...

...I take pines almost completely for granted. I'm in Michigan and they are EVERYWHERE. I thank you very much for your post to remind me how good I've had it without even knowing. You're right, they smell amazing after a good rain and I should be grateful for that. :-)

17. Gosh, I hope that this doesn't sound bad but although I LOVE THE SMELL OF

fresh ripe tomatoes, I HATE THE SMELL OF THE VINES!! I don't know why that is. Funnily enough, I love the smell of lemon verbena but not those bloody vines. My favourite fragrances are mignonette, night scented stock, angel's trumpets, rose geraniums and my double delight roses. oh and the smell of FRESHLY dug potatoes!! Mmmmm-mmm!!
