| This year, I beat the groundhog!! |
|
My garden is terrific every year. I have tomato plants, peppers, eggplant, cucumbers, beans and sometimes melons. Then, last year, I was attacked by the mother of all ground hogs who ate almost everything to the ground. Then I surrounded my garden with 4x4 landscape ties topped with a 3 foot bunny fence. Let that SOB get in there now, I said.
So, about a week later a big hole under the landscape tie. Undeterred, I filled the groundhog holes with huge rocks. No problem for the groundhog - just dig another hole. He (or she) ate EVERYTHING.
So this year I have a new battle plan. I am buying aluminum pipe and will cut it in 1 foot lengths and drive them into the ground with a sledgehammer about every 4-6" around the whole garden (about 12' x 8').
They are really cute little buggers and I would never to anything to harm them but THIS IS WAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

| 1. We have kept "visitors" out with an electric fence |

K-9 brand. The lowest wire is 4 inches from the ground. Worked on the neighbor's three year old too.

| 2. Maybe some moth ball around the edges might deter them. |

http://www.critter-repellent.com/groundhog/groundhog-control.phpBelieve me, I know the heartbreak of having your garden chewed to the nibs by these pests. It's just sickening to put so much work into something and have them ruin it all. Cher
