| so when are people planting their bulbs this fall with the warm weather? |
|
It's been very warm here and still is, even this late in October
I was thinking about doing it soon, but I don't want to them to start coming up too soon!

It isn't cold, not a damn bit! It's very strange.
It's 82 today, 20 degrees warmer than normal for this time of year, if not more.

I'm planting some now, and putting extra mulch on them.

| 4. As long as they are planted before the ground freezes |
|
They should be fine, assuming the squirrels don't dig them up for a tasty mid-winter snack.

I started putting chicken wire over my mom's bulbs years ago. Not because of squirrels but because we have so many plants she kept digging up bulbs every time she planted. This way she knows there are bulbs where she's digging and either has to move them or dug somewhere else.
