| My Early something tomato plant is 2 yrs old now. |
|
We put it in a big pot the first yr to keep by the house foundation where it was warm. Fall came and we brought it in because there were many green tomatoes on it. Eventually they ripened, flowers came, we pollinated them and had out first tomatoes in May. We left it inside last summer, now through the winter and it has a green tomato on it again. I've pruned it heavily a couple times since it gets really leggy, but it is still going strong.
We might move it outside this summer, back to the warm spot by the foundation, and then back in again. Oh yes, I live in NW WA, where slugs abound, and it freezes in the winter for a couple weeks.
I didn't know tomatoes were perennial. Very cool and just wanted to share.

| 1. That's amazing. Does it make tomatoes inside? |

My plants die before frost even hits them since our growing season seems to be expanding (global warming?). This year I'm going to put in some plants, as usual, and then start a few plants from seed in the garden to try to extend the season. If that works, maybe I'll bring one inside and see what happens.

| 2. It does, if we fertilize it. MrUP uses a brush, I'm more direct and shove |

flowers together muttering something lewd while doing so. It makes tomatoes inside, but the plant has a tendency to get really leggy. I didn't know they would keep on, but this one does. I've had to prune out a bunch of dried leaves also, and don't water too much, but it just keeps on going.
