| Well, it's green, and it grows... |

...but I should cross-post this to pets as well. It concerns grass for indoor pets...
Friends of mine have five indoor kitties. Was annoyed at the amount of money they wanted at Petsmart for a little bitty container of raggedy-looking oatgrass...thought "Oatgrass, huh? I can do that!"
Went down to my local healthfood store and bought about 4 oz of whole oats for less than a dollar. 4 oz is a LOT.
This is the same stuff you pay $2.99 a packet for in the nursery...and you get maybe 50 seeds.
Took a handful, dumped them in a glass of water, soaked them for about a day, then sprinkled them as evenly as I could over the top of some soil in a pot and covered them thinly with more potting soil.
Within a week, I had a veritable little forest of tender green shoots about 4" high. Something very satisfying about that...
Cats thought so, too.

Never thought of getting it at the health food store. My kitties just love the fresh grass. I grow fresh catnip for them as well. A pampered kitty is a happy kitty!
