| I am getting a very late start |
|
After ruling out a square foot garden, I went ahead and decided to wait until I was well enough to do a regular garden. I decided to lay out a brickyard in the area I had previously decided to put my boxes since I found a treasure trove of old used bricks that have no other use...and after that I will utilize that spot to do my starter plants. I had my space laid out and plowed yesterday...I purchased some seeds, I seeded my own tomatoes and my own peppers, and I purchased a few plants. As of now, I have jalapenos, bell peppers, tomatoes, carrots, cukes, zucchini, sugar snap peas, and butternut squash. I plan on adding some corn, onions, and cabbage as soon as I get these in the ground. I also have a bed in my backyard that I am preparing to plant some watermelons, cantaloupe, and pumpkins. I will have to take it a little slower than I had anticipated...but I think it will be okay. I am preparing the soil now...pictures to come at a later date.
