| Ate our first homegrown tomatoes of the season last night |
|
Big, slightly juicy, quite acidic and very tasty creoles. Should have them coming along for sometime. Got seeds from last nights crop and am planning a second planting any day now. I almost made myself sick on them last night eating way too much.

One question: Did you chill them or eat them warm from the sun?
I have a weird tradition of always eating my fist harvested tomatoes warm. I'm just wondering if I'm the only one.

right from the garden to the kitchen table (after a quick rinse,) but they were there for awhile before we ate them, so they were "room temperature?" We never refrigerate tomatoes unless they are sliced and we seldom slice them before eating them. Most of our homegrowns aren't around long enough to be pampered, I just eat em up, so I like to eat them like you do. If we have a big harvest on any given day the neighbors or my wife's coworkers benefit. And we are fortunate enough to have a long growing season. We should have homegrowns into October.
Happy gardening.
