| What is the best brand of food dehydrator for saving summer produce? |
|
I posted this over in Cooking too, but I thought people here might have some good ideas, too.
I want to dry tomatoes, squash, fresh herbs and other summer produce. What is the best type of food dehydrator for this project? I need some capacity since I will be doing large batches. Speed is less important. Any ideas?

the current article of Countryside Journal has a good articel about food preservation, but they don't recommend a specific dryer. http://www.countrysidemag.com/issues/92/92-4/dry_it_youll_like_it.html http://www.countrysidemag.com/issues/92-4.htmlIt is also an excellent magazine.

Sounds like she has a high end dehydrator and makes good use of it. With my small backyard garden, I doubt I would use it as much, but who knows, every year I add a little more.
