Gotta buy a new game. I've already played through Vice City, and was wondering if GTA III was almost as good?

|

I was cruising the Game Isle at CompUSA and saw GTA III.
I assumed it was an earlier distinct game.
Just checked the Official Site, gonna get San Andreas this PM. Thanks....
I need to get OUT more!!!

| 3. There's GTA III, GTA III: Vice City, and GTA III: San Andreas. |
|
GTA III, set in Liberty City (Miami) is the first of this series. It was the one that was so successful that it set the stage for the other two. It's a very good game. I don't know if you'll find it boring or not if you've already played Vice City, but I liked it.

| 8. I think you got it wrong there |

GTA III takes place in Liberty City, which is supposed to be New York - the next one, GTA: Vice City, is Miami, and the map on that one is actually somewhat smaller, but there's a hell of a lot more things to do. The newest one is GTA: San Andreas, which is huge and covers Los Santos (L.A.), San Fierro (San Francisco), and Las Vegas, whatever its game name is, as well as huge rural areas dotted with small towns and such.

the playable area is smaller than in Vice City, your character is a nameless criminal who doesn't talk, there aren't as many side missions, etc., but it's still a pretty decent game. And if you have Vice City for PC, there's a port of GTAIII to the Vice City engine called "GTA: Liberty City".

it won't be out until summer (I think June is what I saw for the release date); Rockstar has a contract with Sony that gives them a period of exclusivity...
