What do you think of the Sony Rootkit drama: what do you think? Are you still going to buy Sony products? For those of you unsure of what I'm talking about: http://www.sysinternals.com/blog/2005/11/more-on-sony-dangerous-decloaking.html

| 2. Sony put a program on your computer... |
|
that acted exactly like a "trojan" virus- not only did it open up your computer to hackers, but it also sent information back to Sony HQ.
PLUS, they stole the program from another company (by pirating!)

| 3. I'll buy headphones from them, because they make good ones |
|
at a good price.
But I hope that their music and software ventures collapse in flaming wrecks.

| 4. Honestly, I'm still buying Sony Products |
|
I have a ton of Sony products in my home including my Car Stereo, all my walkmans, my laptop and my new MP3 player. I'm even shopping for a new desktop and I'm still looking at Sony.
They screwed up but at least they admit it (although after they were caught). But they also make a damn good product that you can beat the shit out of it and it still works. Plus if you check any of the "Buy Blue" websites you'll see that Sony is a definately Blue company.
My 1gig Sony Netman (their MP3 player) holds just as many songs as my nephew's 4gig Ipod and it cost alot less in price (Sony uses Altrec3 which compresses the songs to about a 3rd of the size of MP3).
So, in all reality I'm not about ready to toss Sony out on the streets. I figured there has been worst stuff done with my computer that I'm not away of and I'm just trucking on.
