We are buying a new computer, primarily for our kids to use for games like Civ4 and so on.
Would any of you experts be willing to share your best advice as to what we should look for in a monitor?

| 1. If desktop space isn't an issue, I think CRTs are still best |
|
for gaming. Something like Civ4 where refresh rates wouldn't need to be top-notch, just about anything will do. I'm partial to Viewsonic. Other brands to consider.. LG and Planar are good.

| 2. Ah. That's what a "kid" at my husband's office told him. I was wanting |
|
a flat-panel because they just look better, but, I guess I'm outvoted by the real experts! Thanks (and my husband thanks you for backing him up)!

| 3. There ARE fp's that have excellent refresh rates, but they're $$ |
|
I'm looking at FP's right now and have found several in the 8-16ms range that are top notch, with no discernable ghosting. The cheapest of these is the Dell 1905FP at about $500.
