I also posted this over in GD as "A Proposal: Democratic Underground Studios".
First, this game is deep. Very deep. There are over 7000 scenes to be used; that's from Lionhead's own website. There are also lots and lots of costumes, props, sets, and so on.
BUT....
There is also something called the Advanced Movie Maker. This allows you to script your own short films. You can add audio tracks, spoken dialog, and even rudimentary post production effects. Not only that, but Lionhead has a site up that allows you to upload your creations.
How does "Democratic Underground Studios" sound to all of you? We could release films such as "The Valerie Plame Affair" or "Bushisms for Dummies" or some such. We would need scriptwriters, producers/directors, and voice actors, but all we would absolutely require would be a way to transfer the work between the team.
The Freepers et al would have nothing like this. And we would have a way to broadcast our messages on film- for the cost of a game. That's fifty bucks, folks, and this one's definitely worth it, both for the game itself and the uses to which we could put the game's capabilities.
Over 19,000 movies- very likely more by now- have been posted to Lionhead's The Movies community site since its November release. That's popularity.
Let's cash in on this.

It's very flexible, with lots and lots of props- I don't know how well the props work with fantasy, though, if that's your pnp RPG's genre. Fantasy is a genre not (yet) in the game- I say yet because they certainly will release one or more expansion packs, and modders will be working on this very shortly. People on their forums are begging for new sets, more scenes and props (and you can play the game, release your movies, earn credits thereby, and buy extra props from the online propshop), more costumes, and so forth.
I'm sure once the modders get working it'll be as prolific as The Sims. I plan to make a few for myself, in fact; that could actually be a seperate team working on a movie using The Movies as the engine. There are a ton of uses we here at DU c ould put this to.
Your RPG could be done on this, though, provided the scene you want is in the game. If it's not, I'm sure you'll be able to mod it or download it or buy it in a pack eventually (read as soon)..
