| I got Modern d20 books for xmas! |
|
Core book, Weapons Locker, Ultramodern firearms, Urban Arcana D20 Past, D20 Apocalypse, Menace manual, and D20 future.
Looks like I have some studying to do this winter break!
If anyone here is familiar with modern D20, do you think I could get some help If I have any questions?

Although we don't even play d20 modern...I thought it was really cool anyway. :)
We do play Call of Cthulhu d20 sometimes, but convential weapons usually aren't much use in those games anyway. But I think it would be a really fun book to use for a Delta Green type campaign.
Oops...should have been a reply to the OP ;)

any and all independent publishers seem to be putting them out... check your local Game Store or even barnes and Noble
You may also want to go check www.rpgnow.com, and www.rpgedge.com
The difference, since they split the site: Now has the major boys, if you want to try things from new publishers go to edge.

| 6. Is it possible to brew your own? |

I and my friends have played very few commercial scenarios. We've almost always created our own.

I just want to get some adventures played before I really get into making my own.

If you aren't familiar with a game system, playing some commercial scenarios isn't a bad idea. It can be hard to achieve a good level of challenge for the players. Often premade adventures either state what level of characters it can suit, or provide options for accomodating a range.
I guess I'm fortunate in that I and my friends have been playing various games for literally decades together. We know and trust each other. So we know, especially with a new game, the struggling GM might blunder and unintentionally wack a few characters or even a whole party before learning the ropes. We've also had that happen enough that we take it with good humor.
I've almost never played at conventions and/or with completely unknown players, but I imagine the attitudes there are far less tolerant of missteps on the part of the GM. The players have far less time to participate, and have often paid admission fees for the chance to play.

I do it all the time One useful thing you can use is the SRD... which is the same document the pros use when writing these scenarios... http://search.atomz.com/search/?sp-q=srd+and+modern&sp-a=sp10025a73&sp-p=all&sp-k=And yes get ready for plenty of legalese
