I got kicked for my 'handle' : Bush Will Destroy The World

I was playing Call of Duty (the latest expansion) on some server when after a couple minutes a vote kick initiated against me. I asked why and someone said that they didn't allow inflamatory 'handles'. People started lighting into me to get out of the country, saying I was anti-american....and worse.

I eventually changed my name so they'd stop, but they kept on it, eventually kicking me, even though I didn't respond at all, I was just playing.

Anyone else experience this kind of treatment? Since then I'm feeling it more on other games I play that the conservative nutjobs will just ride people insanely.

I should note that I was playing on a british server at one point with that name, and the people who commented on my name laughed or complimented me on my name...

I leave any server where the players tolerate Nazi names (not that this has any bearing on your issue with American servers, just to illustrate problems found on European servers).

3. kiddies on the servers

I've noticed that a lot of the players on servers I play on are a bunch of right wing rethugs in their teens.

I'm sure they'll get the chance to use their FPS skills in real war soon enough...

4. Certain genres of games

cater to rethugs like tactical shooters, which I do enjoy too, and military flight sims, which I also do enjoy. I just keep all my playing in the realms of escapism. In fact, I was banned from a flight sim website because I spoke out against the rethugs that were there and their god, Shrub.

Back in my heavy FPS days I ran into a LOT of freeptards.

In my experience the RPG fan community is a lot more liberal...but there are even freepers there. I think it's telling of the freeper mindset, when I played Diablo 2 online the people that ran around slaughtering newbies and just generally being pricks were freepers. This has also been my experience on MUDs.

5. I had a few RWNs come after me in Combat Flight sim online

using my Gore1FL handle, I attracted them.

One had to a use a modified raft to touch me and got rather infuriated when I pointed out, like his candidate, he had to cheat to win.
