Anyone Else Try Crackdown For 360 Yet?

I finally bought myself an XBox 360 yesterday after reading an immense amount about this game. Picture a combination of the acrobatics of Super Mario 64 and the over-the-top violence of the GTA series (with some RPG elements thrown in for good measure) and you get a pretty good idea of what Crackdown is. I have a feeling it's going to be over a little too soon, but what a ride!

1. I Love It!

In contrast to some of the reviews I've read, I like the bare-bones story. It drove me crazy in some of the GTA games when my progress was thwarted because I missed the big date with my girlfriend or some other crap. The only thing the game is missing is an altimeter.

2. I just tried climbing the Agency Tower

It must have taken half an hour to find my way up for fear of falling (the sensation of height is palpable). I got almost all the way to the top (which unlocks an Achievement) before I discovered you have to have level 4 agility to reach the last set of handholds. D'oh! That was a loooong jump back down. Just barely hit the water, LOL.

3. You Can Make It With Three Stars.

There is an achievement for jumping from the top of the Keep as well.

4. I just beat the game this morning (SPOILER ALERT)

It was pretty tough taking out the last 2 or 3 gang leaders, thanks to all their henchmen w/sniper rifles and rocket launchers, but it was worth every second. Still it was a mild shock to find out...





























that all of my efforts were to help set up a totalitarian police state! That should make for an interesting sequel.
