(Best viewed with a high-speed connection; there is an option to download this talk in 480p resolution on the page)

Edited to add: Download this talk if you can; it's in a higher resolution and there's a big section of SPORE-filled goodness!

About this Talk

In a friendly, high-speed presentation, Will Wright demos his newest game, Spore, which promises to dazzle users even more than his previous masterpieces. Here Wright encourages users to create not households, as in The Sims, or cities, as in SimCity, but the entire universe, from single-celled life forms to galactic physics. While guiding us through his mesmerizing beta, Wright shares his thoughts on Montessori schools, Darwinian theory and long-term thinking, emphasizing, throughout, that Spore is not so much a game as an opportunity for discovery -- "an imagination amplifier."

Just thought I'd share this. SPORE looks to be one of his best games toys yet.

Here's a page with more about TED. Everyone should check that site out, IMO...

1. there is a YouTube director account called TedtalksDirector (link)
I'm a subscriber, I prefer the science stuff but there are music, art and creative videos uploaded as well.

http://www.youtube.com/user/TEDtalksDirector

Follow the link above to see the latest ones. There is far too much variety to say exactly what class they all belong to but you can really find some gems in there.

Not to hijack my own thread, but you can download most, if not all the videos, from the TED website, without an account, in higher resolution than YouTube provides.

The TED site is incredible. I can't believe they're offering it for free...
