| The Escapist's Yahtzee reviews Halo 3 |
|
Warning: This video contains profane language and will tick off those who think Halo 3 is the perfect and most awesome game. It's definitely NSFW. So don't blame me if you get fired for watching this. :P Oh, and it's funny as hell. http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/editorials/zeropunctuation/2304-Zero-Punctuation-Halo-3(That being said, I still want to play it. It looks fun.)

| 1. Great minds think alike! I was just looking at it before you posted it! |

Damn right it's a great review. After the salad tossing praise that G4 was giving the game before anyone actually played it it was the first real review of Halo 3 I've seen.
He said it. Mediocre. That's the Halo series. They're not great games. They're not bad games. They're just standard FPSs on a console. Apparently though the multiplayer is where the fanboys start spontaneously masterbating and that's really why the X-boxers go nuts for the damn game...but they hyped the damn story sooooo much you have to think...
Yahtzee and myself apparently have similar likes. I guess that makes me a game snob. So be it.

| 2. I SEROUSLY don't know why the Halo series is considered Zeus' gift to Earth. |
|
Is it because most (if not all) FPS games on consoles that preceded it were just simply that bad? Or is it because there's a large number of console players out there that wouldn't know a good game if it crawled out of their dreams and strangled their cat? (Yahtzee's attitude is rubbing off on me)
I played Halo on the both the X-Box and the PC, and well, it was much, much better on PC. Disregarding the fact that Gearbox can't port a game to save their lives, and you needed a PC with two to three times the processing power of the X-Box that ran the game just fine a few years ago, it was enjoyable. And it was much, much better on PC for one reason and one reason only: mouselook. The only, and I mean only FPS games I've enjoyed on a console have been the Metroid Prime series. The third one especially, since the Wiimote is pretty much the best substitution to a mouse for looking around I've seen yet.
Still, I'd rather be playing Half-Life 2. I can't wait to see if he reviews Team Fortress 2.

| 3. I played it a bit the day it came out... |

And yes it is every bit as mediocre as this review makes it sound. While there are certainly worse games out there, I quite simply do not understand why people love this game so much. My friend who bought it beat the single player game the first day he got it, and I played a bit of multi-player (the supposed selling point of the game) and I must say that all of the multi-player maps SUCK. If you want a great single player first-person experience get BioShock or if you have a Wii get Metroid Prime 3. If you want multi-player Team Fortress 2 is coming out any day now. Halo 3 quite simply is a overhyped waste of time and money.
