Civilization: Revolution

I'm pretty excited about the new Civ, but without a PS3, 360, or a DS I am left without the ability to play. This may be the game that pushes me over the edge of upgrading my gaming console. Has anyone here played the demo?

1. I've played the demo, and I'm hooked.

In fact, it's inspired me to play Civ IV: BTS mods in anticipation. ;)

2. Didn't know the demo was out.

I'm more than a little skeptical of Civ on a console, but I'll definitely check it out.

3. Some of the world leaders are a bit cartoonish, but...

Otherwise, it appears to be a great game that's true to the Civ series while making things simpler for the console platform.

The Xbox360 download of the demo is pretty large, but it gives you a good sense of what they've changed from Civ IV. They've added a few new approaches to city management, improved unit/army mechanics, and simplified the religion aspect of the game.

Any Civ fans here play modded games? I've been trying to play a networked game with the "Gods of Old" mod that came with BTS, but it's pretty crash-happy. :(

4. Every modded game I've tried to play in BTS has been a crash nightmare.

I gave up long ago.

I'm gonna hunt for the PS3 demo tonight.

5. My solo BTS mod games seem to work fine.

But the multi-player ones always seem to crash within a few turns.
